After more than two decades of hiding the real location of Springfield, hometown to the Simpson family, series creator Matt Groening has finally revealed that the city can be found in Oregon, where Groening grew up in neighbouring Portland on a street called — wait for it — Evergreen Terrace.
“Springfield was named after Springfield, Oregon,” Groening said in an interview with Smithsonian magazine. “The only reason is that when I was a kid, the TV show Father Knows Best took place in the town of Springfield, and I was thrilled because I imagined that it was the town next to Portland, my hometown. When I grew up, I realized it was just a fictitious name. I also figured out that Springfield was one of the most common names for a city in the U.S. In anticipation of the success of the show, I thought, ‘This will be cool; everyone will think it’s their Springfield.’ And they do.”

why in the hell am i the only one who can look weak in this relationship? look at yourself. you got yourself angry because you couldn’t just admit that you were jealous. you always make fun of me when i get an inkling of green eyes but when i poke fun at you, you get all defensive saying that you don’t have to admit shit about yourself. you’re so insecure about this small thing. all i want is for you to be man enough to admit that you actually feel something. i’d give you the world time and time again but you can’t even do this for me.
